Marketing your pro shop app to customers
The Xcaddie app is the go-to for golfers to stay in touch with your pro shop, wherever they are!
The key to a successful launch is to generate as much ‘buzz’ as possible, using as many channels as you can. This could include social media, email marketing, posters and leaflets, and an event.

How good is your customer database?
Shop customers can only download the app if they use the same email address held on your customer database. If you don’t have many email addresses, it’s a good idea to routinely request emails after a purchase, or run a specific email campaign to boost numbers.

Social media
Twitter might be a great way to stay in touch with other golf professionals or follow industry news. However, Facebook and Instagram are likely to be where your customers spend their time.
When it comes to marketing your Xcaddie app, be realistic about how much time you have. It’s usually best to focus on one or two platforms, and do them well, rather than spread yourself too thin.
Include a call to action in your posts (the link or QR code to download the Xcaddie app) and always include an image.

Share this video
This short animated video is a fantastic way to explain the benefits of the Xcaddie app to your shop customers. Feel free to share the YouTube link across your communication including emails and social media.
Buying group newsletters
Where possible, publish the link https://xpos.co.uk/get-xcaddie in your email communiation to encourage customers to download the app and get started.
QR code
Add this QR code image to your camera roll (click the image to download) and your golfers can scan it directly from your phone when you’re out and about.
We’ll also send you some A5 leaflets for you to pin around the shop (near the till is good) featuring the QR code that takes shop customers straight to the app store.

Xcaddie is a brand new app for your customers and users will need some encouragement to keep up engagement and use the app regularly.
Here are some suggestions to ensure your golfers frequently return to the app:
Regular communication
Include regular reminders about the features and benefits within the app in your social posts and newsletters.
Content could include
- Announcing a new product range in the shop that they can check out in the app
- Posting a photo of the first person to collect an order from the shop each month
- Account balance reminders, including checking statements and topping up balances
- New in-app feature announcements
- Refresh the video area within the app with tips to improve their golf game, pro shop announcements or news
In-app notifications
Reach your customers instantly and send notifications to your users via the app. This incredibly useful tool enables you to contact all users as a group, or individual customers.
Golfers will be grateful to hear about events, product arrivals and launches, an upcoming clearance sale, competition winners or account balance reminders.
Teamwork
The app has been designed as a hub for your pro shop community and as a go-to for all things to do with the pro shop. Make sure the whole shop team appreciates the importance of the success of the Xcaddie app for your business, and is on board with recruiting new users and marketing to them.
